DTG Ink fixation on dark & black t shirts
The fixation of the printed tshirt is very important for good
wash resistance.
For a tshirt with a white under base, we recommend using a temperature of 170C and a fixation time of between 150 and 180 seconds (2.30 – 3.00 minutes)
The fixation time may vary depending on textile quality and environmental conditions. Please perform tests before starting production.
We recommend the following procedure for fixation when white inks are used.
1 Place the printed shirt on your heat press
and cover it with a G-sheet.
2 Make sure the heat press is set to a curing
temperature of 170c.
3 Set the curing time to 150 seconds ( 2.30 minutes
)
4 Set the pressure at LIGHT.
5 Close the press completely for 30 seconds.
6 Open the press and remove the G-sheet allowing
any water vapour to escape.
7 After about 20 seconds, place the G-sheet on
the shirt and close the press for the full 2.30 fixation time.
When using a drying tunnel, place the shirt on the conveyor for
150 seconds at 170 degrees, after step 5.
